I like vaginas, just not on a plate!

Last night, I caught up with my good friend, Robert, who is taking a break from his intense Ph.D. studies at Berkeley and visiting New York, and he introduced me to the amazing hilarity/offensiveness of Art Attack, a show on the Travel Channel hosted by Lee Sandstead.  The thing about this show is that it's produced by a woman who was Robert's first boss in New York when he worked with her on production of the television show The Fabulous Life Of... and therefore has the same sort of crazy pop culture, dumbed-down and overly-enthusiastic slant.  Additionally, the art historian host, Lee Sandstead, is the lamest excuse for an art historical authority that I've ever heard.  Seriously, I feel like my (almost) major in Art History from NYU makes me more qualified than his degree from Middle Tennessee State University and his interest in art historical photography to host this show, but, you know, whatever.  Still, even though the show is just flat out ridiculous, this clip of him discussing Judy Chicago's Dinner Party is laugh out loud ridiculous:

Is he for real?  Do people watch this show?  I am literally offended that this is the way he's choosing to describe this piece of art, though I am amused by his earnest appreciation of the vagina.  There's just SO much more to discuss here and he's ignoring it.  And, for that matter, so am I.  Guess I'm just too distracted by thoughts of turkey, pies and happies waiting for me in Potomac to actually care to take the time to dissect this work from a true art historical slant.  Is it time to leave work yet?!

I hate Judy Chicago. I can't open that video because it's blocked on my work compooter, but I interviewed once with Judy to be her art assistant and I learned more about her and I hate her.

This comment just made me love you even more, Colleen. Clearly you harbor a lot of rage.
